Pro 100, Pro 200, and Pro 500 are the current Pro tiers
OpenAI currently lists monthly Pro 100, Pro 200, and Pro 500 plans. Older references to “20X” generally mean Pro 200, but a familiar label does not mean every account has the same allowance. New Pro 200 subscriptions are available again; the signed-in official pricing and checkout pages control the tier, taxes, payment options, features, and eligibility available to you.
Keep four situations separate: a temporarily unavailable model, a reached usage allowance, a pending bank authorization, and a missing plan tile. The first two normally require waiting for the displayed reset time or using another available model. Billing discrepancies belong with the platform that charged you. Only the official plan screen can confirm whether your account can subscribe.
Choose the next step by account state
| Your situation | Check first | Safe next step |
|---|---|---|
| Considering Pro 200 for the first time | Whether Pro 200 appears after you sign in | Compare the tiers actually shown, then review monthly price, taxes, and checkout details. |
| Already on Pro 200 | Renewal date, current allowance, and any official eligibility email | Confirm before changing a plan; do not assume an old allowance is permanent. |
| Had Pro 200 in the specified period | The official active-date window and your account state | Only eligible accounts can temporarily retain the former allowance during the stated period. |
| Scheduled cancellation | Period end date and an available undo control | You can normally undo it before the period ends; subscribing later does not automatically preserve a prior allowance. |
| Reached a model limit | The model picker’s reset time and other available models | Wait for reset or choose another model; do not retry payment or create another account. |
Four checks before subscribing or changing a plan
- Sign in to the ChatGPT account that will use the plan. A receipt email can differ from the ChatGPT account email, so it is not enough on its own.
- Open the official pricing page or Settings → My Plan and note visible tiers, monthly charge, taxes, renewal date, and allowance notices.
- If you are changing an existing plan, identify the billing platform first. Web, Apple App Store, and Google Play have different cancellation, payment-recovery, and refund routes.
- After payment or a plan change, save the order reference and redacted confirmation, then verify the plan in the account. For an error, contact official support rather than submitting repeated payments.
Included Pro 200 allowance can change with product rules. A higher plan also cannot correct a login mismatch, an unsupported region, or an app-store subscription attached to another Apple or Google identity. If your account is eligible and you still need purchase guidance, read the ChatGPT purchase guide; it does not guarantee activation or bypass account conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Do new Pro 200 subscriptions have the same allowance as older ones?
Not necessarily. OpenAI distinguishes accounts that satisfy its historic active-subscription window from ordinary new subscriptions; the latter use the updated allowance. Check the account page and official email.
Can I pay for Pro 200 annually or several months ahead?
No. OpenAI currently describes Pro as monthly billed, without annual billing or multi-month prepayment.
Does a Pro subscription include API credit?
No. ChatGPT subscriptions and API billing are separate. For developer use, verify the API platform billing instead of buying an unsuitable subscription.
Should I start a new subscription after a renewal payment failure?
No. Follow billing-recovery instructions for a web subscription, or check payment settings in the original Apple or Google Play store, so you do not create a second billing chain.
