The charging platform determines where the receipt lives
First identify whether the paid Claude plan was bought on the web, through Apple’s App Store, or through Google Play. The same Claude login can be used on several devices, but that does not move its billing record between those systems. Anthropic says its web-billing guidance applies to Pro and Max plans purchased on the web; for iOS or Android purchases, the relevant app store is the biller and keeps the receipt.
For a web-billed Pro or Max plan, open Claude, select your name or initials, then go to Settings > Billing > Invoices and use View for the invoice needed. Anthropic also says each invoice is emailed to the registered billing email address; its suggested inbox search is “Your receipt from Anthropic.” Check the actual account and its billing email before assuming a receipt belongs to a different login.
Use the channel-specific route
- Find the original charge. Compare the confirmation email, card statement’s merchant wording, and current subscription screen. Do not publish full card data or a complete invoice when seeking help.
- If it was web-billed, use Claude Settings. Sign into the purchasing Claude account, open Settings > Billing, find Invoices, and select View. Search the registered billing inbox if the older receipt is not immediately visible.
- If it was iOS or Android, use the store account. Anthropic does not issue that invoice. Sign into the Apple ID or Google account that made the store purchase and review its order/receipt history; the current Claude login may use a different email.
- Read the document before disputing it. Record the plan name, date, billing cycle, currency and any line items. If the platform or account is still unclear, use the official support route with only the needed, redacted order evidence.
Why an invoice can differ from the expected recurring amount
| What appears on the invoice | What it can mean | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Immediate charge after a plan upgrade | Anthropic describes a new-cycle charge less unused value from the old plan for mid-cycle changes | Old plan, upgrade date, proration and next renewal |
| Applied balance or credit | Existing account credit reduced the amount due | Whether it is a credit being used, not a new discount or charge |
| Two receipts in one month | Usage-credit purchases, including auto-reload, can be billed separately from the subscription | Plan invoice versus usage-credit receipt |
| Store receipt rather than Anthropic invoice | The mobile store was the billing channel | Original Apple ID or Google account and store order history |
These are explanations documented by Anthropic, not a diagnosis of a particular charge. An unexpected or unrecognized transaction needs the billing platform’s official support process.
Billing details affect future invoices, not historical ones
Anthropic says the name, address and tax details on a web invoice come from billing details at the time the invoice was issued. Updating payment or billing details can affect future invoices, but Anthropic says an invoice already issued cannot be edited or reissued. Do not create a new payment method, cancel a plan, or initiate a new purchase solely to rewrite an old receipt without reading the current official instructions.

Claude invoice and receipt FAQ
Where is a web-billed Claude Pro or Max invoice?
Anthropic directs web subscribers to Settings > Billing > Invoices, and says invoices are emailed to the billing email address.
Does Anthropic issue the invoice for an iOS or Android Claude subscription?
No. Anthropic says App Store and Google Play subscribers obtain receipts from the store account that billed them.
Why can a Claude invoice differ from the usual plan amount?
A mid-cycle plan change, an applied credit, or separately billed usage credits can change an invoice. Review its line items before treating it as an error.
Can an already issued Claude invoice be changed?
Anthropic says billing-detail updates apply to future invoices, not invoices already issued.
